What is Stevia extract?
Stevia is a sweetener and sugar substitute derived from the leaves of the plant species Stevia Rebaudiana. It is a pure natural, high sweetness and low calorific value sweetener extracted from stevia leaves. The active compounds are steviol glycosides (mainly stevioside and Rebaudioside), which have 200 to 400 times the sweetness of sugar, are heat-stable, pH-stable, and not fermentable.
It has the character of zero calories, low glycemic load, patient safety, “good news” for diabetes and obesity patients.
It is widely used in food, beverage, medicine, sweetener, flooded food, cosmetics, tobacco, daily chemical industry and other sugar fields.
